Plot summary
June's mother, Dr. Amelia Brooks, an ecologist campaigning to preserve Spirit Lake, goes missing after a deep dive. No diver has ever found the bottom of that lake. June, a documentary filmmaker, travels home with her half-sisters Annie and Isa to put their mother's affairs in order, recording everything with her camera. The three settle back into the house, where their mother is gone but still present. Isa takes up with Josh, June's former crush, and odd things begin after the sisters jokingly call on a local legend's ghost. Their questions about the lake keep growing, the household frays, and June keeps filming.
