Plot summary
Hawthorne Global Security, the private agency led by Robert Daniels, sends Jake Carter and a handful of other men to meet Olivia Tanis at an airport. She is an IT engineer who left Genesis Defense Corporation carrying intel on traitors inside the contractor, and the Department of Justice hired the team to watch over her until she is handed to official custody. On the road, mercenaries led by Simon Vogel, hired by the corrupt faction at Genesis, ambush the convoy. Daniels and his men are killed, and Jake gets Liv away in one of the mercenaries' vehicles. At a safe house, Liv seizes his gun and demands his keys so she can reach the police station, since she does not know him.
