Plot summary
Marge Simpson leaves Maggie at the Ayn Rand School for Tots, where a security screening and a machine from Often-Wrong Technologies sort the toddlers by intelligence and mark Maggie as average. A guard takes her into the Nothing Special corner, past the Room for Gifted Babies, where the other babies take away or eat the playtime items. When a butterfly flies in, Baby Gerald, Maggie's foul-tempered rival, crushes it against the wall with a mallet and outlines the spot in crayon. Maggie comes upon a caterpillar and a pop-up book showing the stages of a butterfly's life, and she sets out to keep the caterpillar safe from Gerald.
