Plot summary

Grace and Jack are a young couple who live in a big city and are ready to begin their life together. Two things stand in the way: Grace's first meeting with Jack's wealthy, judgmental parents, which causes a slight rift between them, and a trip to Grace's hometown in the deep south, where she hopes to find her biological parents and bring closure to a mysterious childhood. A man had reached out to Grace about her past, and the couple arrives at his large estate to find an empty house. Grace begins to come apart, and at dusk the town's welcoming committee appears, masked and cloaked, carrying a dead kitten, burning pentagrams and a stick bearing a symbol of death. A maniacal leader means to fulfill an apocalyptic prophecy.
