Plot summary
Leon Leigh is an antiques collector who inherits the house of his mother, Rosalind Leigh, after her death. The two were estranged, and Leon comes back to take inventory of what she left behind. Much of the house has been given over to a shrine for a mysterious cult that two strange brothers are said to lead. As he moves through the rooms, he avoids sinister figures and a mysterious creature. Rosalind's voice narrates the loneliness she felt once her son rejected both her and her faith, which he turned away from after religious experiences in his childhood. Leon reaches Anna, a doctor, by cell phone, and she talks him through what she treats as hallucinations.
