Plot summary
Shelly Gardner, 57, is a showgirl in Le Razzle Dazzle, a French-style revue that has long played the Las Vegas Strip. Eddie, the stage manager, delivers the news that falling ticket sales will end the run in two weeks, and a neo-burlesque circus production has already claimed the show's most popular nights; Shelly calls the replacement obscene. Her younger co-stars Mary-Anne and Jodie, who look on her as a mother figure, try out for other shows on the Strip, which she dismisses as low-class and risqué. With no savings and few resources, she fears for what comes next and reaches out to Hannah, her semi-estranged daughter, a college student in Arizona. Annette, a former showgirl now waiting tables, stays close to her.

- Gia Coppola wanted Pamela Anderson for the lead after watching Anderson's 2023 documentary Pamela, a Love Story. Anderson's then-agent turned the script down within the hour without telling her, so Coppola passed it to Anderson through her son Brandon; Anderson had largely given up on acting.
- The showgirl costumes were archival pieces designed by Peter Menefee and Bob Mackie, and some of them had been worn in the real Jubilee! revue.
- Jamie Lee Curtis agreed to join the film only after Gia Coppola told her Pamela Anderson was playing the lead, and Coppola thought of Dave Bautista for his part after a conversation years earlier about his wish for dramatic roles.
- Cinematographer Autumn Durald Arkapaw shot the film on 16mm with a handheld camera and custom anamorphic lenses to capture a raw, grainy quality.
- Jamie Lee Curtis had only four days free to film in January 2024, so her scenes were shot first.
- Kate Gersten's screenplay came from her own unproduced play Body of Work, which she wrote after visiting the real Las Vegas revue Jubilee! before it closed in 2016.
