Plot summary
Jason Frankenstein is the last of his family, and the experiment that carries the name has gone nowhere under his hands. He is approaching the middle of his life inside a dormant routine and a relationship that has run down, with little to show for his efforts to carry the old work forward. Then a creature he knows from his past breaks back into his life, and the encounter is brutal. It moves him to complete what he started, and he gathers help: two paramedics who deal drugs on the side and a nurse with a questionable history. Their task is to build a living being out of dead bodies.
