Plot summary

Professor Ruckus Mandulbaum invents the Titan badge, a device that alters the wearer's DNA and grants a superpower. He hands the badges to recruits who have fallen on hard times, and they become America's most famous superhero family: Vista, a telepath; Ansel, who is super-strong; and Maya, a teleporter. Over the years, bruised egos and resentment set in, and the professor replaces the team with newer, teenage heroes. In 1979, Vista and Ansel, now grown, plan to steal their Titan badges back from the Hyperion Museum. The badges require the professor's biometric scan, so the pair take the museum's staff and visitors hostage.
