Plot summary
Jack Carter drives through Utah, picks up a hitchhiker of his own, drops him minutes later when the man comes on to him, and then stops in a secluded spot to dig a grave for a woman lying bound and gagged in his truck. Melinda, Patty, Kristina and Denise, four women from Colorado Springs, are headed for a nurse's conference in Las Vegas when they see Jack hitching and give him a ride. Their car breaks down, and they stop for the night at a roadside motel, where the manager tells them the service station will not open before morning.
