The Haunting of Seacliff Inn (1994) on Netflix

Plot summary

Susan Enright and her husband Mark move to a seaside town, planning to buy a house and run it as an inn. The property they came to inspect is not the one that holds Susan. She is inexplicably drawn to a different house instead, one set high on a cliff above a lonely stretch of beach. The Enrights open the inn, and from the start something eerie is at work around them there. A black dog appears. A guest unlike any other takes a room. In the attic Susan comes upon old letters, written by a wife who lived in fear of something.
