Plot summary
Outside Pittsburgh, Mia Baran teaches at a boys' school that her husband, Guy, runs. A devout Catholic and a former nun, she has cardiomyopathy, and Guy treats her cruelly. Nicole Horner, another teacher there and Guy's mistress, is protective of Mia. When the two women tire of his treatment, they plan his murder together. Nicole has him come to an apartment owned by a family friend, where Mia drugs him and the women drown him in the bathtub. They wrap him in a shower curtain and put him in a wicker box. Driving back, Nicole crashes the car on the interstate; the box is overlooked. Arriving at the school late at night, the women leave the corpse in the neglected swimming pool and make his death look like an accidental drowning.
