Plot summary
Theo Tomasis rose from peasant roots to become a Greek shipping mogul and dreams of leading Greece. He meets Liz Cassidy on his island, where she is staying with her husband James, a senator from Massachusetts. Though Liz is happily married, Theo is drawn to her and begins to court her aboard his yacht while James talks with a former British prime minister. Nico, Theo's son, wants to handle his own affairs and persuades his father to fund a plan to buy older freighters, turn them into oil tankers and sell the fleet to a Saudi family. The Cassidys return home and start a run for the presidency.
