Plot summary
Mike Morgan, an injured former boxer, cannot find work and is left penniless after his wife Angela gives their savings to her criminal brother. Joe Halsey is fired from his clerical post in the United States and travels to London to win back Mary, his pregnant wife, who cannot break free of her unstable mother. Eddie Blaine has deserted the US Air Force to recover Denise, his unfaithful actress wife. The three meet Rave Ravenscourt, a decorated wartime veteran who now gambles, pursues women and lives on the money of his wealthy wife Eve, who plans to move with him to Kenya. Rave has begun an affair with a young woman employed at a post office that takes in shipments of old banknotes, and he urges the three others to join a night raid, handing out revolvers.
