Plot summary
Mary Shelley's Frankenstein was not invention, insists Jonathan Venkenheim, a professor who says his ancestor Johann founded the science of genetics and destroyed his notes, leaving no proof. Anne, his girlfriend, dismisses the theory and mentions that the university has suspended him. The crew he has gathered shares her doubts, apart from Vicky, its director and his friend. They travel toward the Arctic Circle, stopping in Canada to meet Clarence, who says a creature attacked him and picks out his assailant from a sketch. With Karl as their guide, the group continues north, leaves the car for snowmobiles, and Eric catches glimpses of a figure.
