Plot summary

Six neighbors, the Gilberts, the Masons and the Weavers, take their yearly vacation as a group. As the trip approaches this year, Kitty Weaver and Larry Gilbert are weary of how predictable their lives and their marriages have become. Each has always found the other's manner grating. The Masons are bedridden with illness, and Kitty's husband Jack and Larry's wife Mary are kept away from the trip as well, so Kitty and Larry are left on their own in Acapulco. The two spend their days in each other's company there, and the irritation between them turns into love.
