Plot summary
Five well-qualified candidates have reached the last round of interviews for a coveted position at the Carcharias Corporation, a conglomerate that keeps its business out of public view. On the night before that round, each of them is seized and drugged. They come to the next day locked in a room together with no obvious way out, and they compare stories of how they were taken. Then a telephone rings, and the company's chief executive, known to them only as The Employer, is on the line. He tells them their final interview is beginning, and that it is nothing like what they were expecting.
