Plot summary
Thomas Conrad manages a supermarket, and since returning from overseas military service he has struggled to readjust. He is separated from his wife Selina and his daughter Chloe, and he is told to undergo rehab. He visits a psychiatrist. One evening he rear-ends another car; the driver, Bill Duffy, accepts his payment and then drinks with him at a local bar, where Thomas passes out. He wakes up tied down in a room, and Bill, who says he works for a drug cartel, tells him he must take part in a smuggling run across the border. Selina and Chloe are being held, and Bill threatens to kill them if Thomas refuses.
