Plot summary
Rick Clayton is a young American whose rare skin disease makes any exposure to light dangerous, and he is usually seen on a motorcycle, covered head to toe in leather. Cures he has tried have failed, so his father, Walter, takes him to a village in Yugoslavia to see a healer, whose remedy is said to hold for only three days. In the town Rick meets Frances, a young American actress, who knows him only as a masked figure in leather and calls him The Dark Knight. Frances is drawn to the stranger on the motorcycle without knowing who is behind the mask.
