Plot summary
A G8 meeting is under way at a luxury hotel in Heiligendamm, on Germany's Baltic coast. The world's most powerful economists have gathered to pass provisions meant to reshape the global economy. Staying at the hotel is a mysterious Italian monk, there at the invitation of Daniel Roché, who directs the International Monetary Fund. Roché wants to confess to the monk that night, in private. The next morning Roché is found dead.
