Lisa Eichhorn
Biography
Lisa Eichhorn is an American actress, writer and producer who trained at RADA and began her career on the British stage, playing Ophelia in Hamlet at the Queen's Theatre in Hornchurch. Her film debut came in 1979 as a Lancashire shop girl in John Schlesinger's Yanks, a performance that brought her two Golden Globe nominations. She followed it with The Europeans (1979), earning a BAFTA nomination for best supporting actress, and played Mo Cutter in Cutter's Way (1981), a turn the American Film Institute called the decade's most underrated performance and which won her a best actress prize at the Deauville Film Festival. Later screen work included Moon 44 (1990), made with Roland Emmerich in Germany, and Opposing Force (1986). She made her Broadway debut in 1990 in The Speed of Darkness, and later moved into writing and producing, co-writing and producing Defenders of Riga, Latvia's official entry to the 2009 Academy Awards.
