Plot summary
In a corrupt Salvadoran jail, Jack Conrad waits to be executed. A television producer, Ian Breckel, buys him and ships him to a remote island in the South Pacific, where nine more condemned prisoners from jails worldwide arrive with him. They are offered a way out of capital punishment: fight one another to the death in an illegal game that is filmed and broadcast live over the internet. Every contestant wears a bomb on one ankle, fitted with a thirty-hour countdown, a tracking device and a pin that detonates it after ten seconds. The winner keeps their life, their freedom and a cash prize. Breckel wants the broadcast to draw as many viewers online as the Super Bowl does. Ewan McStarley, a British mercenary, and Paco Pacheco, a Mexican criminal, are among the contestants.
