Plot summary
A sixth child is on the way, and the mother is Marisa, the second mistress of Sergio Masini, a violin player. Sergio is so anxious about it that he hardly leaves the clinic where she waits. His only trip out is the drive that brings his wife, Giulia, and their legitimate children to the station for their seaside vacation. As soon as the train departs, he hurries to a telephone booth to ask how Adele, his other mistress, is doing.
