Plot summary
Nick Larson, his girlfriend Julie Miller, and their friends Trevor Eastman and Amanda are at a lake for Julie's twenty-fourth birthday. Nick is up for a promotion at work, where Dave Bristol wants the same job, and Julie plans to move into Nick's place instead of leaving for a master's degree in New York. Dave calls Nick in to meet a client, and on the drive back the car collides with a semi-truck. Julie, Trevor and Amanda are killed; Nick is the only survivor. A year later, a blinding headache and a nosebleed during a sales pitch cost him a week's suspension. At home with photographs from that birthday, Nick is carried back to the moment before the crash and wakes into a life where Julie is still with him, but his job is gone.
