Plot summary
Mike Sawyer and Andy McCafferty have spent their time writing mystery novels without any first-hand knowledge of the subject. Their answer is to step into that world themselves, going undercover to collect what they need for a book. The two friends take on roles on opposite sides of the law, one passing himself off as a police officer and the other as a criminal. They are soon in deeper than either of them planned.
