Plot summary
Jordan Hines works as a Hollywood agent, has an ulcer, has been sober five years, and is six weeks away from marrying Caroline Gaines. A purple envelope reaches him with a form about his sexual interests and an offer of a no-strings encounter at a hotel. He throws it away, then takes it from a dumpster and fills it out. Raymond, a potential, high-profile Chinese client, tells him his agency's practices are obsolete and phony. A second envelope holds a hotel keycard. In the room, Jordan puts on a blindfold and has sex with a woman who is also blindfolded. He then tries to trace the sender and identify her.
