Plot summary
Army soldiers in rural Lancashire are being killed in the woods near their base, and the deaths are blamed on a wild animal. Joyce and Ellie Ballantyne, two sisters, live in a house close to the woodland. Their brother Steven has been kept in that house's cellar for almost thirty years. The killings make the sisters afraid that Steven is the one attacking the men.
