Plot summary
Lucy Allen and Jamie, two modern teenagers, become the caretakers of a ruined house that is said to be haunted. There they meet Sara and Georgie, children who appear to be ghosts and who ask for help. Sara and Georgie believe that the wicked Mr and Mrs Wickens intend to murder them, and that Lucy and Jamie can save them. A strange visitor, Mr Blunden, holds the key to the trouble.
