Plot summary
On the streets of Los Angeles, four lives turn around the gangster Fingers, so named for cutting off the fingers of debtors. A meek bank clerk overhears coworkers talk of a fixed horse race and borrows $50,000 to bet, then cannot repay. An enforcer who works for Fingers foresees fragments of the future of everyone he meets, and is told to watch over Fingers' visiting nephew, Tony. The manager of the pop singer Trista, deep in debt to Fingers, signs her contract over to him without her consent, and she refuses to accept it. Dr. Love, who never confessed his feelings for Gina before she married his best friend, searches for a rare blood type to save her after a snake bite.
