Plot summary
A triptych of stories joined by their Edinburgh setting. Boab drifts through a rotten day: his parents order him out of the house, he loses his job, his girlfriend leaves him and his football side drops him. Moping in a bar, he meets a profane stranger who says he is God and tells him his life has been wasted. In the second story Johnny marries Catriona, a part-time prostitute, in a shotgun wedding, and their baby Chantal arrives around the time Larry, an arrogant neighbor, moves in above them. The third follows the raver Coco Bryce, who takes a very strong hit of acid one night, and middle-class couple Rory and Jenny, whose baby has just been born.
