Plot summary
A top-secret decryption drive falls into mercenary hands. CIA operative Mace Browne travels to Paris with her partner Nick Fowler to buy the drive from Luis Rojas, a Colombian intelligence agent who took it during a raid on a drug lord's mansion. Marie Schmidt, a German undercover agent, seizes the bag holding the money, and the deal collapses. Jonas Muller, Marie's superior, orders her to pursue the drive. Mace recruits Khadijah Adiyeme, a retired British operative, and Rojas arranges to pass the device to Graciela Rivera, a DNI psychologist with no field experience.

Can contain spoilers, watch the movie first.
- The odd title comes from American history: Agent 355 was the codename of a woman who spied for the Patriots during the American Revolution, and the film borrows it for its team of modern operatives.
- When the trailer appeared in October 2020, casting Spanish actress Penelope Cruz as a Colombian psychologist drew criticism. Jessica Chastain defended it, saying she wanted to stress "the international common thread that connects us all" and an alliance beyond borders.
- The film cost $75 million and took $27.8 million worldwide, leaving Universal with an estimated loss of about $93 million, more than the entire production budget.
