Plot summary
When spring break empties the campus, Regina McKee has neither money nor plans for the week. A letter announces a prize stay at a seaside bed and breakfast, the Red Wolf Inn, and a telephone call arranges a private plane. At the airstrip, Baby John Smith meets her and drives her there, escaping a police officer who tries to pull him over. The mansion belongs to Henry and Evelyn Smith, Baby John's grandparents, and two other young women, Pamela and Edwina, are already guests. Evelyn urges everyone to eat more at the lavish dinners. Regina asks to call her mother and is told the telephone is out of order.
