Plot summary
A group of ten arrives at a snowbound mountain chalet by aerial tramway, invited for the weekend by a Mr. U.N. Owen. None of them has met him, including his secretary, Ann Clyde, and the married housekeeper and cook, who were hired through an agency. In each guest's bedroom hangs a framed copy of the nursery rhyme "Ten Little Indians", and the butler, Joseph Grohmann, serves dinner on a tray set with ten little Indian figurines. At nine o'clock, as instructed, Grohmann plays a hidden tape recording. A man's voice claims to be Owen and tells the ten guests that each of them hides a scandalous secret, an involvement in the deaths of innocent people.
