Plot summary
The apartment building where Max lives is overrun with rats. Max is a kindly man, and he makes a friend of one of the animals, a rat he names Tara. Then his handicapped brother dies, and the conditions of the inner-city slum are to blame. The death pushes Max to the edge, and he finds the rats around him willing to serve as his soldiers. He sets out to avenge his brother.
