Plot summary
Frank Macklin, a young manager, is hired by the Ellison Group, a conglomerate that has bought four breweries, every one of them in financial trouble. His job is to reorganize one of the plants, which stands in his hometown and is a major employer there. His old friends from the town work at the plant, and their first welcome is a cold one, because they doubt that he can make any difference. When Frank tells them that the brewery is losing money and that the jobs may soon be gone, they open their arms to him and throw themselves into raising the plant's sales and production.
