Plot summary
Nick Hopewell, new to the NYPD homicide squad, reported crooked cops during his time in Vice, and his first case is the killing of businessman Oliver Waxman, whose ties to the mayor put pressure on the department. His partner, Ed Braxton, wants the case to himself. Morgan Sher runs the cleaning company contracted to clear crime scenes, and she has trouble keeping assistants. On the job she finds a piece of evidence the forensics team overlooked. Braxton ignores the clue when she brings it to the station, but Hopewell listens and asks for her help on a related case. She agrees to work as a police consultant if he helps her clean scenes, and the two investigate together while she keeps a rule against dating cops.
