Biography

Adriano Giannini is an Italian actor who began his career at eighteen and came from an acting family in Rome, where he was born in 1971. His first notable part was opposite Madonna in Swept Away (2002), a widely panned remake in which he took the role his father, Giancarlo Giannini, had played in the original; he also dubbed his own lines for Italian and Spanish releases. He voiced Rat in the animated Sinbad: Legend of the Seven Seas (2003) and later played Giancarlo Rossi in the ABC series Missing. In 2020 he narrated the true-crime docuseries Italica Noir, and in 2024 he appeared in two Netflix projects, the series Supersex and the film Lonely Planet. Much of his work is dubbing: he has given the Italian voice to Heath Ledger's Joker, Joaquin Phoenix's Joker and performances by Tom Hardy and Christian Bale, among others.
