Plot summary
Benjamin is bound for Los Angeles to work as a gay porn actor, and his best friend Dom wants him to arrive with money. Dom's answer is one last job: carrying a package across the border into Canada for a friend. The contact, Alice, does not simply hand it over. She makes the two of them swallow condoms packed with the drugs, four for Dom and one for Benjamin, before they cross. On the far side they stop at a rest stop, where Dom confronts a truck driver who insults them and takes a punch to the stomach. Alice then picks them up and brings them to Rich, her boss.

- Carter Smith wrote the role of Rich in Swallowed specifically for Mark Patton, and had his The Ruins collaborator Jena Malone as his first choice for Alice. Jose Colon was cast after appearing in a photoshoot series for Smith's All the Dead Boys banner, and Cooper Koch was cast as soon as Smith watched his audition tape.
- Swallowed was shot in Maine, where writer-director Carter Smith had previously lived, and the cabin used in the film was built by his father.
