Plot summary

This documentary traces the career of Jackie Curtis, the poet, playwright and performer whom Andy Warhol called a pioneer without a frontier. Friends, co-workers and colleagues recall the plays she wrote and the Warhol films she appeared in, among them surviving Warhol superstars and the founders of experimental theater companies. Rare stage footage shows Curtis in Vain Victory, Heaven Grand in Amber Orbit and Glamour, Glory and Gold, alongside cabaret performances and clips from the Warhol movies. Interviews with writers, editors and media figures set her work in its historical period, and the film draws on photographs of Curtis and the Warhol crowd.
