Plot summary
Adira lives in rural Nova Scotia with her mother, Mitzi, and volunteers at the Mi'kmaw Friendship Centre where Mitzi works. Her close friend Jamal spends much of his time on the Africville community in Halifax and its summer reunion. Adira, who is Mi'kmaw, feels she does not fit in because of her heritage, and she deals with insecurity and low self-esteem. Gaming gives her a direction: she finds she has a knack for playing online, and Autumn Rhodes, a top Twitch streamer, mentors her. Adira's ambition drives her, and she moves quickly into professional streaming, where the popularity she has won brings a set of challenges with it.
