Strangerland (2015) on Netflix

Plot summary

The Parkers have just moved to Nathgari, a remote town in the Australian desert. Catherine and Matthew's children, Lily and Tom, are unhappy there, and Matthew and Tom hold Lily responsible for the move from Coonaburra. Tom sometimes walks the streets at night, which his parents discourage. One night Matthew watches Tom leave the house and Lily follow him, and says nothing. In the morning Catherine cannot find either child, and school officials say the two had not been attending. A dust storm smothers the town in red dust. Matthew wants the family's business kept private, but Catherine contacts the police, and Detective David Rae leads a search that townspeople join.
