Plot summary
Ty Johns and Lei Chen move cargo between worlds for a living. Colonel Bishop offers to wipe their records if they collect a crate from a distant planet and bring it to a set location for the government. The crate holds a young woman in cryogenic stasis, not freight. Terrorists attack their ship in flight, and the smugglers break away and come down hard on a world that has no chart. Those who survive the landing hole up inside an abandoned military base. The woman is awake, she does not speak, and unlike everyone else in society she carries no identifying microchip in her arm. The terrorists have followed them down and are searching for her.
