Plot summary
In 1970, the small town of Harmony, New Mexico, is run by Slue, a small-time crime boss. His henchman Weasel delivers a stolen Lincoln Continental, taken from a couple Weasel killed while they were traveling with their child, and Slue finds the baby in the back seat. Slue wants to kill the infant, but Pearl, his transvestite wife, stops him. The baby stays, and Pearl chooses the name Sonny Boy for him. Slue has the boy's tongue cut out and brings him up as a mute helper in his crimes, training him the way a man trains a wild dog.
