Plot summary
A plane crash leaves one survivor, Denise Watson, who produces television commercials. She cannot shake the feeling that something is about to catch her, and Brian, a doctor she meets at the hospital, puts it down to survivor's syndrome. Karla, a former actress who had foretold the crash, gives her warnings she cannot read. Near misses and sightings of people who look dead follow. Denise tells her neighbor Kristy that because she lived through the crash, the death that was meant for her is still owed, and Kristy is not persuaded. Brian has grown close to her but doubts her account.
