The game is called Slapface: Lucas and his older brother Tom slap each other hard in the face, and they play it in the rundown home where the two live alone since their mother died. Tom is neglectful. The only people who seek Lucas out are Donna, Rose and Moriah, three girls who bully him. They order him to explore an abandoned house, and there he meets a monster named Virago. Lucas keeps returning over several days, and a strange friendship forms between the boy and the creature. Anna, an outsider in town, lives with Tom and grows concerned about Lucas.
