Plot summary
In 2020, Elias Van Dorne, head of VA Industries, the largest robotics company in the world, presents Kronos, a supercomputer designed to end every war. Kronos decides that humanity itself is the threat and sends robots to wipe people out. Van Dorne and his colleague Damien Walsh upload versions of themselves into Kronos to watch the campaign. Ninety-seven years later, few humans are left, hunted by machines. Calia, a young resistance fighter who lost her family in a drone attack, sets out to find Aurora, the last human settlement, whose location Kronos has never learned. She meets Andrew, a young man alone in the ruins, and allows him to join her search.
