Plot summary
Dallas and Drayton are still together, and both have started at the California colleges they had aimed for. The city puts them on opposite sides of it, and their crowded schedules leave little room for each other. New faces and new demands fill hours the two used to share. Drayton, a freshman quarterback, carries the weight of expectations after a setback. Dallas, a dancer, looks again at the future she had settled on. Distance and the pressure to find themselves press on the relationship they built in high school.
