Shadows in the Sun (2005) on Netflix

Plot summary

Jeremy Taylor is an American-British book editor in London and an aspiring writer looking for a fresh start. His employer sends him to Tuscany, in rural Italy, to get a new book out of Weldon Parish, an American-Italian author. Weldon withdrew to his refuge in the countryside after his wife died twenty years ago and has not written since. He has long resisted the idea of writers or editors asking him for more work, and he receives Jeremy with hostility. Jeremy gets to know the local residents of the countryside, and he is totally captivated by Isabella, one of Weldon's daughters.
