Plot summary
Sheila Rilo works the teller window at Desert Savings Bank. Her boyfriend, Rick Becker, runs the branch, and his superiors have told him that one more robbery at the ATMs will cost him his job. Sheila paid for most of Rick's education, and he left her for his tutor, so she plans to rob the bank and get him fired. Stuart Stein, another teller, wants $250,000 to stake on a single roulette spin in Las Vegas, a plan his friend Max suggested. Jason Valley, promoted to assistant manager for a raise of fifty-five cents an hour, intends to empty the safety deposit box of Charles Merchant, a millionaire who shot the mother of the duck Jason keeps. Shmally, a clothing store employee, plans her own revenge on Merchant, with help from her roommate Carter.
