Plot summary
Nani's daughter disappeared the day Nani's husband died. Nani has dementia, and she is certain that a being she calls Sator talks to her and makes her write down its words without knowing she is doing it. Her grandson Adam, who admits he hears voices as well, lives alone in the cabin his dead grandfather left and hunts for Sator, his dog beside him on daytime walks and deercam footage to review at night. His sister Deborah handles the family's affairs from a distance, and his brother Pete drops by now and then to sit with the mostly silent Adam and compare the strange experiences they have had.
