Plot summary
Jenna Whooly returns to Bell Island from college for Halloween and brings her boyfriend, Alex Martin, a classmate who also grew up on the island. Her younger brother, nine-year-old Dougie, spends his time on a game called Satan's Little Helper and resents Alex. Dressed as Satan's little helper, Dougie sets off to find the devil on the streets and ask him to get rid of Alex. He finds a man in a cheap Satan costume posing a body on a lawn like a decoration, mistakes him for the devil, and heads home with him. Jenna and her mother, Merrill Whooly, take the silent masked figure for Alex, playing along to please the boy.
